A quick view of the two early kits I've finally acquired, the Academy and Classic Airframes Jumo-powered versions:

I'm weighing the various options on what to do with these two kits. The Academy/Hobbycraft model has numerous small inaccuracies, especially in the cowling area, but it's inexpensive and plentiful. The Classic Airframes nose is quite nice (as is the rest of the kit) but it's nearly impossible to obtain a kit without spending a small fortune. At this point the CA is being used along with No.1's excellent three-view print as a pattern for updating the Academy parts. Other kitbashing ideas are also floating around in my head :-blah :-dal :-jump......stay tuned for later updates on this, probably on a separate thread.

From beginning the two early Jumo versions I've gone back and finished one of the last versions. Here's the Monogram/Revell Bf-109G-10. The paint scheme is courtesy of our own No.1, coming from one of his excellent profiles in this thread:http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/forum/vazduhoplovna-umetnost-warplane-art/bf109g/ Also I thank him for sending me enhanced photos of the real airplane.

The kit was a very relaxing build, nearly box-stock with just a few enhancements in the cockpit and upgraded antennae. The decals mostly came from the kit with the numeral from an old decal sheet.

Here's the Otaki G-6, converted to a G-2 by removing the wheel bulges on the wings. A nice fitting kit, the filler you see here is all that's needed.
