Avia S-199 (Kovozavody Prostejov 1/72)
« on: January 18, 2015, 07:34:28 PM »
Kovozavody Prostejov is back, and nicely!

The Avia S-199 is from the same concept than the declinaison of the Messerschmitt Bf109G from AZ Models. The S-199 is also declined in two boxes: one for Czech aircrafts, the second one for Israeli aircrafts. It's the last I will build.

Parts are very fine; plastic is just a little bit ruguous but a sanding phase will fix that...

OK, back on the Avia.

First a French mate said me that the cockpit interior was not RLM02 but RLM66 (end of war aircrafts). So I've airbrushed RLM66 on the RLM02; re-painted details and applied the decals for the instrument panel (very good) and the seatbelts (excellent!)

Then I've airbrushed Pébéo gloss varnish.

Propeller was painted with a mix of black and dark gray and the propeller bosse in red.

After having made an oil wash this morning, I've airbrushed Pébéo matt varnish, used pastels then assembled the cockpit interior.
The fitting seemed good but assembly of the half fuselages was not so easy... I had to use cyano glue to fix the problem of space between the half fuselages.
There was also fitting problems with the wings, but fuselage and wings problems are not irrecuperables.
More annoying is poor fitting of the tail and of the canopy. I have to think how I can resolve that...  :-think
