For the first time Pz.Kpfw.III was shown on military parade in Berlin in 1938. Tank was still pretty raw and was in a constant state of refinement. During the Polish campaign the red army drew the attention of Pz.Kpfw.III, even a zealous Soviet Lieutenant stole a car from the allies, which was returned to the German side.
In the spring of 1940, the Soviet Union bought in Germany several models of military equipment, including Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.G with a 37-mm gun. For the Germans this modification already no interest because already adjusted the production of tanks with a 50-mm gun. Tests in the USSR bought the Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.G. the summer of 1940. The Pz.Kpfw.III is comprehensively examined at the landfill in Kubinka, the results have had a significant impact on the development and adoption of the T-50.
