Back to the 1/16 version, I've substantially completed the "power egg" except for wiring the distributor, generator and starter. Just for fun it was installed temporarily into the chassis for a final fit-check and now it's time to move on to the next phase of the project.

Thanks, mates.

Now I will start on some of the interior fittings, starting with the footboards that were so common on WWII VWs.

Thank you!

I'm not able to devote a lot of time to this right now as I am converting a woodworking shop space into a new home for the 1/1 Beetle. Still I found time to start the footboards using the Tamiya Kubel parts as a basic pattern and photos of KdF Wagens in my vast VW book collection.....

Thank you!

The seats are properly modified now (removed the pleats on the bottom cushion and made new "legs") and so are the footboards:

Still more Evergreen used to make the stiffeners around the back windows. The kit doesn't mold these because there is headliner fabric on the Deluxe civilian car. This military version had no headliner back here and the stiffeners show up easily. Next was to add the clamps and wing nuts for the seat adjusters and to add some inner detail under each seat. Then, it was finally primer day for the main body, with some small corrections still required.

Not enough time really to work on this, but the front hood prop rod has been fabricated. Originally I intended to make the prop fold just like the original does but I finally decided to simply fix the rod and I'll just remove it to close the hood.
