Hi all, here is some more progress, I almost never use round cross section parts from the kit because they always have " flesh " and it's easier to me to replace the parts with wire or evergreen profile, this time won't be different but however the eduard give nice welds on the " hooks " for lifting the turret in case of repairs so I glued the parts but I will cut them off keeping only the welds.

On the both sides of the turret we can replace the box parts with photo-etched parts which are more probably points for fixing the wire for camo ( branches, mesh etc ) but the photo-etched part should be folded on two points and you should position the three identical parts perfectly to look look its one..... For me it was easier and more realistic to drill holes in the kit's parts

Most of the King Tigers had Zimmerit protection, it was an anti-magnetic paste which was put on the vehicle to prevent it from magnetic mines. So I decided to put my King Tiger in Zimmerit, it's a lots of aftermarket resin and/or photo-etched Zimmerit's but I wish to made this one exactly the same way as they did it on the " real thing ". First using mask tape I protected the areas which wont get Zimmerit, by this I will simulate the fallen of Zimmerit ( very usual appearance ) and then just simply put on the putty and made the Zimmerit texture with a tool I made for this from a modelers knife blade.

It's a slow and boring process but well worth it
