Title: tour through Hangar-7, Salzburg
Post by: Profa on March 18, 2011, 09:43:58 AM
On my recent trip to Augsburg I have stopped in Salzburg to visit famous Red Bull airbase, Hangar-7.
View to a building from outside, after getting out of my car:

At the entrance I was greeted by a charming young lady, who gave me the boarding pass:

Going into the hangar, the marvelous sight appears:

Inside one might see everything action-packed Red Bull is about - airplanes, formula 1 cars, racing bikes, flying suits...
The space is multi in every way - there's a restaurant, a lounge, and also all the time they have some art exhibitions. It's a really good place to rest and enjoy :-ok

Here's short tour, while detailed walkarounds of the most interesting specimens shall follow ;)

Interesting figure of Predator - look at the material it's made of ;)

Through the glass I could take a picture of adjacent Hangar-8, where Flying Bulls team is set. Unfortunatelly it was closed for maintenance, so I couldn't see up and close B-25, PT-17, P-38, Eurocopter, AH-1... :-wall

After some sobbing, on with the tour I went:

(http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa189/jaka013/Hangar-7/th_037Flugel1.jpg) (http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa189/jaka013/Hangar-7/037Flugel1.jpg)

Unfortunatelly (again :-wall :-wall :-wall), the lounge was all busy so I couldn't take a coffee - had to satisfy with a gas station at the German border instead, which was only 5 minutes away :-/

The next stop was Augsburg, where was all work and no fun :-roll.
But, on the return trip I have filled my thrusty Canon with pictures from another interesting place :)) More on that later, when I fix pictures... :-wave

But as she flies at a lot of airshows, I'm sure you'll see her at some point!
