Yesterday (16.06.2006), the first of two Open Days of the Dutch air force Klu was held at Leeuwarden AFB.
There were no less than four display teams; Read Arrows, Patrouille de Suisse, Patrouille de France and last but not least the U.S. Navy Blue Angles. We saw this day a unique formation flight of the Red Arrows and Blue Angles together! We also saw an incredible fligh display by the Frenchman Christian Moullec with his Ultralight plane in close formation with a flock of geese! Last, we saw a short-landing demonstration of the Blue Angles Hercules burning off all its tyres! Here are some nice shots of the total of 225 pictures I made!

The shot of the Red Arrows and the Blue Angles is excellent, it is the first time I have seen two Display teams together. :msn_highfive:

Yes, it WAS unique! The Blue Angels only flew together with the Red Arrows on the first day (Friday) of the airshow. The next day it was not repeated for safety(!) reasons! Maybe it was because there was a small mishap that Friday when one of the Blue Angel planes had a tyre burst at take off...
