Hi mates.
Next weekend i will be in Speyer. This is brithday present from my parents. Besides the old town i will of course not pass the opportunity to visit the Technik Museum in Speyer :-green. Also i read they have a part of the museum for models. You can have a good impression what they have in this link here:

-
Best impressions will be when you back with images :-tri :-tri

Yes i will take 2 cameras...just in case. I just realized that the Dr.1 they have in the Museum is from Achim ;) I hope it will be grounded and not on ropes.

To regret no original Dr.I is preserved. By the way- remember me if you get close to the technical drawings of this airplane :)
-
Wingman81, take a lot of photo's, You lucky man! :) :-ok :-wave
-
Theres a slight change in the plan. Since we could not get an accommodation over the weekend we will go from monday to wednesday ;) Yes i try my best with the photos i promise :-cool

Just a quick start tomorrow i will post more photos. :-green Also i havent seen yet the photos i took with the other camrea. Someone already guess what it is? Ill have to look it up.

Interesting position of guardian :)
-
Yes this one was outisde near the road to attarct the people. Had to run back over the whole estate to get it ;o It seems to have italian marking. Its >> F-84 Thunderstreak << (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-84F_Thunderstreak) it seems :-salut
-
Thunderstreak, yes. :-clap :-clap :-clap
Italian colors, and very interesting detail on airbrakes (? :-think), it looks like a Korean letters to me. Could it be USAF one that is sold or given to Italy??? :-think, or these are not letters at all? :-think
:-wave
Oooop, I checked on some other photo's of this airplane - these are perforations on the airbrake. I was fantasizing :-/ - Korean letters :)).
Good shots on a cloudy and grey weather. :-clap :-clap :-clap :-wave
-
Very nice observation Papa! Yes weather was not the best :;( but it was more difficult to make photos inside of the hanger. Lighting was not always very good.
-
Heres the next one: Pilatus P3 Trainer (1956-1958)
and
Air Fouga C.M. 170 R Magister (first in series produced rocket powered trainer aircraft (1952)
-
Great set of images, keep it up :-ok
-
Now something for the WWI freaks. One of the two Fokker Dr.I replicas they have has the color scheme of Dr.I 204/17 of Vfw Paul Bäumer of Jasta 2 "Boelcke" April 1918. The plane is also on the title page of the Osprey book about Jasta Boelcke that was a strange coincidence that i had that book with me ;)
-
some more...
-
And more.....
This is Belgian Stampe SV.4 Travel and Training Plane of 1933+
Sorry the close up foto was a little messed up. I tried already to clear it a little with my program.
-
Latest news is that the Russian Buran flying test model fitted with two jet engines is now underway to the Speyer musem!
-
They have already polo shirts with Buran emblem in the gift shop and some old russian cosmonauts flying gears are near the entrance on display.
-
the photos about the Italian F-84 Thunderstreak GETTI TONANTI (getti=jet tonanti=thunder) was one of the first italian air force acrobatic team... from 5° Aerobrigata RIMINI (Italy) 1960

Extremely nice video Santi :-ok
Next one was a Mirage III E with special white painting and recce equipment in the nose for day and night photo missions. For long distance recce it had a self-contained aid navigation system on board.
The second is a Beech Model 50 Twin Bonanza.
-
forgot one ;o
-
Great museum collection mate :)
-
Ok i continue...found another 2 shots of the Belgian Trainer and Mirage, the silver one is selfexplaining :-green
-
some more...
-
Every new post is better and better!!! Congratulation mate :-clap :-tri
-
I promise the better photos are yet to come outside of the hangar ;) Next one was hard to take pictures because it was placed next to a tree and a pillar :-wall Its another french recce (Mirage?); the yellow is a LET Z 37 A Čmelák (engl:Bumblebee) was a Czech multi purpose plane used as a crop duster and fire fighter.
-
In the darkest corners of the museum you find sometimes a Swiss Vampire :-tri
-
...
-
Now here is my absolute favourite from all planes in the hangar:
Canadair F-86 Sabre
-
See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadair_Sabre
From Wikipedia:
Golden Hawks
The Golden Hawks were a Canadian aerobatic flying team that was established in 1959 to celebrate the RCAF's 35th anniversary and the "Golden" 50th anniversary of Canadian flight, which began with the AEA Silver Dart in 1909. Initially, a six-plane team flying brilliantly-painted metallic-gold Canadair Sabre Mk 5s, was envisioned as performing for only one year, but the Golden Hawks were so popular after their single 63-show season that the team was expanded. In the following year, another plane was added to the team, allowing for a five-plane main formation with two solo jets. The Golden Hawks continued performing for three more seasons, changing to the Mk 6 in 1961, until they were disbanded on 7 February 1964, having flown a total of 317 shows across North America.[3]
370 built, F-86F-type with Orenda engine, all to RCAF, 75 later passed to Luftwaffe.
Sabre Mk 6
655 built, 390 to RCAF, 225 to Luftwaffe, six to Colombia and 34 to South Africa.

Wingman made a spectacular photos of fantastic airplanes. Man! I just glanced (I must go out now), saw that Swiss vampire (coloured like some exotic Triton or a snake). My sweet and holly Lord, I will enjoy tonight.
Wingman: by this important post I give You an award of airplane lover feel joy creator." :-green
You really made my day special. Can't wait to come back and see those photo's all and slowly.
Bravissimo! :-wave

-
Next one is also very interesting. I tried to make some new perspective shots from the front. Whats your guess about this plane ?
-
Draken is very very interesting plane. I think Denmark still use it operationally.
-
This Draken was used in Austrian Service. On one of the photos you can see the word "Gefahr" = "danger" written on the air intake.
-
Yes I know about the nationality of this sample but did not know the meaning of inscription ;)
-
All are very good photo's, but those two from frontal and frontal and bellow position are fantastic. Bravo Wingman :-clap :-clap :-clap :-jump :-wave
-
Thanks mate ;)
Next one's Hawker Hunter. I had not much time outside because it was starting to rain. Not even to take pictures of the U-Boat hehe. Last photo i took from top of the U-boat.
-
Next one was the hardest to get. It was in some fenced area and i had to mount between some old steamtrain wagons to get it :-green
-
More then beautiful images ;) Hope you have more as well we are so greedy :-roll :-tri
-
Some more are coming...ill save my favorite plane for the last :)
Fairey Gannet AS Mk.4 Submarine Hunter
and a wreck...
-
Wreck is more then interesting! More info?
-
My guess would be that it is the front part of a Dornier 24 (there was no info marker), what is missing is the upper wing with the three propellers but the bow would certainly indicate that it is a waterplane and it would explain the strange short vestigal wings.
Edit:
Ok i found it. Its the wreck of a Do 24 that was recovered from the Müritzsee thats halfway between Berlin and Rostock (type Mueritzsee in google maps then you should find it). In Autumn 1944 the three machines that were stationed there were attacked by american fighters. Two did explode directly and the third one was sunk to the lake. Thats the one we have here.

-
Yeeeaaahhh!!!!
-
Time for some new photos.
This old F-15 looks like it has seen better times long ago ;)
-
But placing of Boeing 747 on pole must is great engineering job ;)
-
Indeed they did a nice job :)
You can see here a short video. They had same problems like with Buran. The Rhine was at high watermark.
