He 111c
« on: May 03, 2008, 03:06:19 PM »
Has anyone seen any copyright free images of a He 111c?
I'm after one or maybe two for the Luftwaffe page on my site and I'm having problems finding a good one.

Thanks  :-ok

This could be hard. There were only 12 He 111c produced for Lufthansa.

If i understand this right they were build as civil planes and then abused by the Luftwaffe to do recconaissence missions over France, England and Russia.

Thanks for the help lads.

No.1, your image could be one.

The first three He111's to be use in the covert reconnaissance role were.
He 111/V4, D-AHAO "Dresden"
He 111/C-03, D-AXAV "Koln"
He 111/C-03, D-ALIX "Rostock"

And as Wingman81 they were used for reconnaissance missions over the UK, France and Russia. They carried the markings of the Deutsche Lufthansa and they also were civilian registered. I would not say that they were abused, the airframes were specially modified and it can only be looked upon in the same light as what Sidney Cotton was doing for the RAF at about the same time.

Sidney Cotton even had a Luftwaffe General pilot the plane as he covertly operated the camera.

The profile which I found is for "Dresden".

That would be great, I'm still working on the pages, I already have your Ta 152 No.1. So hopefully they will be almost ready, then I can start on the German camera systems for which I have some good information.
