Here are two photos of a nicely looking and highly polished high wing passenger plane.
Can you identify the type?
I know what it is and No. 1 knows; it is now up to you to find out.
And.............there is no civil registration you can check with Google!!

As Eric said, it seems to be an A--26 converted into a passengers transport. I found this on the web, it might help:

http://72.30.186.56/search/cache?ei=UTF-8&p=a-26+civilian+passenger&fr=moz2&u=www.hill.af.mil/library/factsheets/factsheet.asp%3Fid%3D5657&w=a-26+civilian+passenger&d=ReWFlfL9P1JR&icp=1&.intl=ar

If it is the same plane we're talking about, it was seized by US MArshalls due to marijuana smuggling. A nice kit conversion if you think about it  :-jump What would you use to simmulate weed?

Cheers,

Javier

Correct! It was in fact an ex-USAF Martin A-26B Marauder bomber (no. 41-38281) converted into a civil transport plane by Rhodes Berry Co. Los Angeles CA. Known as the 'Silver Sixty' it was flown as a prototype in 1960, but only one was built. It carried the civil registration N5510V. It must have been quite a hot ship to fly!!

And by giving the correct answer, it is now your turn to put a photo of a 'mystery plane' on this forum!

PS. The A/B-26 was called the Invader, not the Marauder (which was the Martin B-26).

Hello,

This has to be one of the hopeless Curtiss attempts to improve the P-40 and update it. Curtiss tried and tried to make the P-40 into an updated warplane on a par with the P-51 and others, but without success. Incidentally, pleeeeese don't anyone say that the P-51 was developed from the P-40, it wasn't as any aircraft designer or aerodynamicist will tell you.

Best wishes,

PV Chairman.

Nope, I'll give you a hint: it was a bomber/recce aircraft. Never went into production.

Sorry, I am a little late. This is by my info Bolkovitinov type "S". Engine was called "Sparka" and he carry verticaly mounted FAB 100 bombs.
