Legion Condor Bf109
« on: May 06, 2012, 12:07:50 PM »
Greetings all,

here you are some images of Bf109 used by Legion Condor during the Civil War. Maybe some images in later Spanish service :)

Nice set! So to see they are all Me-109B's with two-blade variable pitch Schwärzel propeller.

Notice too that the B models have both styles of cowling without and with the three cooling slots just behind the propeller.

Wow, there are a few of those I had not seen before! Especially some of the Emil photos. I'd never seen an image of ship 6-100 for example. Also, note that the belly landed 6-3 has the wooden Schwarz propeller. This is Bf-109V-5. I have always thought it interesting that these prototype airplanes (and other types as well) were sent into a combat zone for accelerated testing.

Great images and more plans for the "Messerschmitt factory" in my model room!
