Great photo mate  :-love
I like this worn-off look on this spit...

So far I found out that this particular spit was produced by Westland...

Engine Merlin 55

Hi mates,  :-salut

A very good idea to build a Spit Vc of GR 2/33 "savoie".

But, contrary to what is told on the leaflet of the decal sheet, GR 2/33 was NOT a Free French unit. This unit joined the Allies after the landings in North Africa on 8 November 1942.
It was not "one of the first unit to receive Spitfires". The very first Free French units to receive Spitfires were GC 1 "Alsace" (later RAF 341 Sqn in March 1943 and GC 3/2 in the new Armée de l'air in November 1944) and GC 2 "Île-de-France" (later RAF 340 Sqn in November 1941 and GC 4/2 in November 1944). GR 2/33 "Savoie" received its Spitfires in March 1944...

Cheers,   :-wave
