North Weald
North Weald is not so well known as places such as Biggin Hill & Duxford but was active during World War II, It is not very far from Duxford. There are several companies based at North Weald such as Aces High & Kennet Aviation who own and operate a collection of warbirds. The two Douglas C-54s I am told which are owned by Aces High USA were flown is to take part in a film about the Berlin Airlift. I am a member of Air Britain who held their annual Fly-In at North Weald this year which gave me a very good opportunity to photograph lots of aircraft. Normally North Weald is closed to the public. There are rumours that North Weald may be closed in the future to make way for Housing and Industrial facilities.
