Thanks to some manufacturers from East Europe, we have today more and more kits of aircraft from the Soviet era as well as Russia and best of all is that these kits are designed with the latest technology used for kit development and manufacture. It is a real pleasure to see the great number of very quality kits and since they are mostly in just basic plastic, many details can be added inside and one of them is seat belts. Eduard released a number of steel seat belts and Soviet fighters from WW2 are among them.

Here on images you see their belts in 1/32 scale (32875), 1/48 scale (49100) and 1/72 scale (73039) and they consist of elements to make seat belts for the Yakovlev or Lavockin fighters. Design of the elements are the same, only differing in their size and number of parts in each fret.

For the test I took the Yak-3 fighter in 1/48 scale, the kit is Eduard Weekend edition. Work is so fast and easy that there is almost not much to say- just remove element from fret, bend it in proper shape, this goes really fast and elements are very easy to shape, and fix it where needed. This is it, just few minutes to complete this part of the job.

As you know, the Soviet Union also had other types of fighters like a MiG or Polikarpov. From available images I note that it is also possible to make these sets adopt to those kits but I guess that Eduard will release in some close future a new set (as well there is also color variation in some cases).
