Cocardes

Cocardes is a new name in the sky of the aviation modeling magazines and I must say it is definitely a promising publication.

This bi-monthly magazine is just released in France and it is soft cover A4 form magazine in full color, language is French. The magazine itself can be credited as returning to old values and it comprises extensive use of archive data in model builds. Some of the authors are proven researchers and authors but also excellent modeler. All of these features give the magazine great power and it will be more and more effective in the future. What I also like is that it is not crowded with advertisements as some other magazines; they are present there in enough quantity, enough to provide info about the dealers and producers.

The regular content is model builds with many images, color profiles and technical drawings. Focus of this magazine is F4U Corsair flown by ‘Pappy’ Boyington and there are two excellent builds of the Corsair but also scale drawings and color profiles. Other content presents reports from model competitions, announcement of new product to come, excellent builds of the Airfix Typhoon in 1/72 scale, Zoukei Mura Ta 152H in 1/32 scale, Italeri Hellcat in 1/72 scale, reviews of the P-51B and C Mustang in 1/72 scale (with excellent scale drawings), Caproni Ca.311M 1/72 build and last pages are for the last releases.
