Ultimate new wash
When I got an email from our friends from Ultimate and got info about updates of some products, I was really curious what was made there. I already have some products they mentioned and have never seen any need to change it. But…
I got a parcel with two new products, one is brand new and the anther one is an updated product. The updated product is Dark Dirt and it comes at the right moment, since I completed some kits and they were a great platform for a test. First feel of the Dark Dirt is that it looks like a bit more dense and a bit more sticky to surface. The other thing I have immediately spotted is a far much dark shade, deep grey brown would be best description. Use is identical as their previous product for weathering- apply over panel lines or over area, let it dry, clean extra with towel or cotton and you have good exposed details.
Other options are surface weathering, use when you have to represent dirt or stain, it works perfectly. Use a brush for application and then clean it with water. Easy work and easy cleaning is a great maintenance feature of this products and effect on kit details are also high.
The other product is Winter. It is great for those who need to represent a thin coat of snow white as temporary camouflage. This works well with a brush and the result is an opaque patch on the surface. Ideal for those who work vehicles and can be also used in airplane kits. My interest is to do some other thing like bleaching. It is normal that some areas on airplane get faded out due to the exposure to sunlight or chemicals or hot gases. I applied on surface normal coat of Winter and then dry washed it and smudged over the surface. Result is great and authentic.
And how about the old Version of Dark Dirt? Keep it as it is excellent, very dark brown shades are welcome in many applications and when you do not need extra dark shades.
