Koolhoven FK.51 walk-around
In spite of being the most built Koolhoven type, the FK.51 was never preserved for display in a museum. Main reason was that during the 5-days war against invading German forces none was left. Also from the FK.51’s used in Spain, there is no survivor although some survived the war.
The Militaire Luchtvaart Museum MLM at Soesterberg has on display in one of their museum halls a very accurate replica of the Koolhoven FK.51. Great care has been taken to give all details as exactly as possible and the result is really fantastic.
This selection of photographs from a ‘walk-around’ give a good impression of the detailing of this replica representing LVA FK.51 no. ‘429’. Interesting detail is that last LVA Koolhoven built was no. 428, so strictly speaking this was the next one built!!
